An incorporated town since 1984, the community of Pinetop-Lakeside is located within the scenic Arizona White Mountains. The surrounding forested areas provide more than 180 mi (290 km) of White Mountain trails, and numerous recreational and sightseeing activities. Additional fishing and boating opportunities are available at five nearby bodies of water: Freds Lake, Rainbow Lake, the Scott Reservoir, the Woodland Reservoir and Show Low Lake. Guided and educational tours through the Pinetop-Lakeside area are offered at the Mogollon Rim Interpretative Trail and the Big Springs Environmental Study Area. Golfers can challenge themselves at the Pinetop Lakes and Golf Country Club, which boasts an 18-hole championship course. A reflection of the areas natural beauty, as interpreted by local artists, is exhibited at a number of galleries.
